2008 CARFAX 250 NASCAR Nationwide Series Race

Carl Edwards, driver of the number 60 Planters Ford, walked away with the victory for the third annual CARFAX 250. Edwards started from the pole, led a race-high 71 laps, and took a win of more than three seconds. Following Edwards was Brian Vickers, Tony Stewart, Mark Martin then Greg Biffle.

Jason Keller, driving CARFAX / America's Incredible Pizza Company Chevrolet, finished 17th place, 11 places better than his last Nationwide Series finish, earning him the Featherlite "Most Improved Driver" award.

The 2008 Carfax 250 was dedicated to Steve “Big Guy” Helwig, longtime car chief for CJM Racing. Helwig passed away Friday morning after a battle with leukemia. Carfax was the lead sponsor of the #11 Chevrolet, owned by CJM Racing and driven by Jason Keller in the Carfax 250 for the past two years.

Through a partnership with The Conservation Fund, Carfax offset all carbon emissions generated from the race, including the energy use at the venue, gasoline used by the race cars during the race, employee and fan travel, hotel stays, and camping generators. Symbolizing this joint initiative and to commemorate Michigan International Speedway’s 40th anniversary, Carfax and MIS will plant 40 trees at the speedway’s Brookfest Acres Campground.

Carfax named Make-A-Wish recipient Eric Wright and country music star Pat Green as grand marshals. Following the conclusion of the Carfax 250, Green performed a free concert along with fellow country singer Danielle Peck for fans attending the race.

The race was broadcast on ESPN.
